I remembered the time when
camella home owners conducted a seminar about the zero waste lifestyle, and it really inspired me a lot. We were also challenged by the speaker to apply our learnings in our own home and be a channel to disseminate easily the information’s in the area.
Although it was a difficult task to maintain a zero-waste lifestyle, but now it was my primary goal. When we talk about zero waste, it doesn’t mean that you should not have the garbage at home but putting it on a proper bin is the main principle. I believed that our home is the best place to consider practicing the zero waste habit little by little. And later on we can now easily cut down our household’s trash into nothing.

R FOR REDUCE
This is the first stage in achieving your goal. Focus on reducing your waste entering your home. For example, if your family loves shopping, decide as early as possible what are the things you need to dispose instead of bringing it in your home. The less you bring home, the less garbage you’ll have to face with. Another thing, if you think there are items in your house that is no longer needed, you have the option to donate all of those things so that it will eliminate your waste and at the same time it could benefit other people.
R FOR REUSE
After reducing all of your waste, now consider the items that are still available for reuse. Do not dispose your stuff if you think you’ll going to use it in the near future. Just place it on a proper place so that if you need them, it would be easy for you to locate them.
R FOR RECYCLE
In this stage, consider first what is recyclable and not. We have to find out and segregate those items that you need to recycle. Use this stage if you think your stuff can no longer reduce and reuse. Use your creativity and great imaginations to come up with a new idea and transform the old one to a new thing. For an instance, you can reuse some of your items like shopping bags, used paper and many more based on the level of your creativity. Instead of buying new things and disposed the old one, why not come up to a big idea that will surely highlight your old stuff to a new creation.
